Google Dance

Once a month or so, the index at Google is regenerated. This period is known as the Google Dance because sites move up and down in their rankings like crazy until the index rebuild has been completed. This can be a very upsetting and nervous time for webmasters, as changes in the algorithm used by Google to determine site rankings can caused a site to success or fall to doom.
